STM Fish – Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilisation
STM fish is a soft tissue therapy that assists in effectively breaking down scar tissue and adhesions associated with a variety of soft tissue injuries; from tennis elbow to post-operative scar tissue.
The technique utilizes a stainless steel instrument designed by a Chiropractor in Western Australia, to specifically detect and effectively treat areas exhibiting soft tissue fibrosis. It can also be used to stimulate blood flow to injured areas and assist with lymphatic drainage from chronic inflammation.
For more than 25 years, kinesiology taping has been breaking new ground in the fields of sports performance, pain management and physical therapy.
Kinesiology taping is a rehabilitative technique designed to facilitate the body’s natural healing process, while providing support and stability to muscles and joints, without restricting the body’s range of motion. It is also used to provide extended soft tissue manipulation to prolong the benefits of manual therapy provided in the clinical setting.
By targeting different receptors within the body’s sensory system, kinesiology tape alleviates pain and facilitates lymphatic drainage by microscopically lifting the skin. This lifting affect forms convolutions in the skin, thereby increasing the space between the skin and other tissue, allowing for a decrease in inflammation of the affected areas.
The tape is latex-free and wearable for days at a time. It is safe for a wide range of people, including children and the elderly and successfully treats a variety of conditions, including shin splints, rotator cuff injury, patella tracking, tennis/golf elbow and much more.
